 PDFMNHS Celebrates Teachers' Day

The Prudencia D. Fule Memorial National High School commemorates the World Teachers' Day last October 5, 2011 with the theme “ My Teacher, My Hero”. Teachers will take a break for their routinary activities to give way for special program in school.

The Department of Education (DepEd) issued Department Memorandum 352, series of 2010, to mark World Teachers' Day. This month long celebration started last September 3 until October 5. The Supreme Student Government spearheaded this meaningful event to honor our dear mentors for their heroic role.

Mr. Joker C. Madayag, president of SSG together with his officers and students planned and prepared this significant day secretly. Even before the program itself, they conducted various activities such as “ Card Making Contest” where in all of the students cooperatively involved themselves. They also had “Write a Message to our Dearest Teachers” where in all students gave their greetings to their teachers. These two activities will be monitored and collected by SSG and whoever teacher will receive the most number of cards and messages will be awarded as the “ Outstanding Teacher of the Year”.

Another way of valuing the educators is through “Gaya-gaya Puto Maya” last October 4-5. Selected prudencians were challenge to experience on how to be a teacher. Each one of them would act as their substitute during on their class. The student teacher must wear dresses like a teacher.

During the last day of celebration, a mini-program was given by the students to make their respective adviser. After recess, a general program was done, Christian Gangan and Queenie Escueta , both from, IV-Zeus act as Masters of Ceremony. Each sections read their messages for their adviser. There were intermission numbers from the volunteer students. The teachers were given with the Certificate of Appreciation. The winners for the “Card Making Contest” were the following: the 3rd place is Karla Rose Romero, 2nd place is Vanessa Belen and the 1st place is Abigail Sabinosa. The most outstanding teacher was not awarded because the Prudencians believed all of the teachers at PDFMNHS deserve to be called as an “Outstanding Teacher “.
